Location is a broad category.  However, similar to compiling a punch list of desirables, also important is to identify leisure comforts and travel necessities.  For example, is there a particular type of school you need to be reasonably close to?  How about certain types or brand of stores, shopping, dining or entertainment venues of interest to the family?  Also, healthcare needs, pet care, banking and maybe religious affiliation.  Sometimes the travel distance to an airport or recreational park may show as just 18 miles, however, it may take at least 50 minutes to get there on a good day.  Depending on which conveniences are important, travel times or distances may or may not be a concern.
